The purpose of this information bulletin is to notify the importing Trade community of a change in the service hours during which U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will process entry shipments of live-animals at the Miami International Airport Cargo Clearance Center (CCC).
Due to the on-going concerns for public health, as well as the health of the live animals, these shipments must be reviewed in close coordination with USDA Centers for Disease Control (CDC) personnel. Therefore, it is imperative that entry processing for these shipments occurs when CDC and CBP personnel are jointly available.
Effective June 17, 2019, shipments of live animals will be processed at CCC only, according to the following schedule:
Monday through Friday, 0600-2000 hours and
Saturday and Sunday, 0800-2000 hours
Please be advised that CBP personnel at the General Aviation Center (GAC) will no longer process consumption entries for shipments of live animals after-hours.
This change to entry processing hours has no effect on the scheduling of flight arrivals for these shipments, as carriers may continue to import these types of shipments to Miami 24/7. Importing carriers and U.S. Imports of live-animal shipments are reminded that the importing carriers are still responsible for the care and safekeeping of these shipments.
Any questions regarding this information bulletin should be directed to Chief Diane Loredo at (305) 869-2750.
