FCBF Call for Nominations for the 2019-2020 Board of Directors

The Florida Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association (FCBF) is pleased to announce The Call for Nominations for the 2019-2020 Board of Directors.

The Call for Nominations is now open and we are seeking candidates for the open positions of President, 1st & 2nd Vice Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer. We hereby advise our regular members that they may submit in writing to the Nominating Committee a slate of officers: Slate of officers includes a President, who has served on the board at least 1 year previously and preferably on the Executive Board, 1st Vice President Freight Forwarding, 2nd Vice President Customs, Secretary and Treasurer who have served at least 1 year on the Board, all slate candidates must be FCBF members in good standing.. Once submitted, the slate will be presented to the General Membership in accordance to our by-laws. Deadline for submission is midnight Wednesday, February 13th, 2019

Service on the Board of Directors of FCBF, in an officer position, is a great chance to help drive the decisions of our highly-respected association and help shape the future of the logistics industry in Florida. The opportunity to work with other leaders in FCBF allows you to be on the cutting edge of industry concerns and to be part of the decision making process on the state level, driving the strategic goals for the organization. This is an exciting time to join the leadership of FCBF and help us map our ambitious future.

Board service is also a chance to grow personally and professionally, to develop skills, gain unique experience and make lasting connections with a team of other passionate and motivated professionals from our industry. FCBF has a dedicated staff that is committed to make the board's job as fulfilling as possible. They take care of managing FCBF day-to-day enabling the board to focus on matters of strategic importance which can help improve our programs and the services that we offer to our members.

Board service also provides these unique opportunities:
• Develop valuable skills in non-profit governance, program planning and strategic planning
• Expand your network of professional contacts
• Gain recognition from your employer, community, or peers

Candidates must meet a professional standard of excellence by demonstrating the following:
• Hold active membership in FCBF
• Be willing to accept a leadership role for the future of our state, professional organization
• Have time to dedicate to fulfilling their responsibilities.

Nominations close at midnight, Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 and the Nominating Committee will announce the slates during the February 20th, 2019, GMM meeting and via email as well.

Ballots will be sent on March 1st, 2019 via email. If you do not receive your ballot by March 1st please contact the office to have one sent to you. Ballots will also be available during the March 20th, 2019 GMM for in person voting.

Voting will commerce March 1st, 2019. All regular members in good standing with FCBF can vote either in person at the March 20th, 2019 GMM meeting or if you are unable to attend the March GMM you can vote any time by proxy ballot either by mailing-in, emailing or faxing. All ballots must be received by March 20th, 2019 by midnight to be considered valid.

Commencement for the newly elected Board Members to take office will occur at the Annual Installation Gala on April 27th, 2019.
