Announcing Pleasure Boat ROAM App

Customs and Border Protection has the pleasure to announce the creation of a ROAM app that facilitates arrival reporting for travelers and revolutionizes small boat processing for Customs and Border Protection Officers.
Benefits provided by this application are listed below:

• Allow CBP to process all arrivals submitted on the ROAM app by using a web based application that can be accessed from anywhere.
• Provide CBP with a single interface for officers to see traveler information.
• Data will be automatically downloaded to the Pleasure Boat Reporting System (PBRS) or Vehicle Primary Client (VPC), based on mode of travel.
• Allow CBP to eliminate the SVRS system and boaters will no longer be required to file a float plan.
• Enable pleasure boaters to report their U.S. entry to CBP via a personal smart device or, where Wi-Fi and cell coverage are unavailable, a tablet at a local business.
• Include video interview capabilities for qualifying travelers which may then be exempt from physically reporting to CBP for inspection.

The deployment of the ROAM app for the San Juan Field Office is scheduled for this summer and should be implemented nationwide by the end of the fiscal year.
If you are interested in the ROAM app, or have any questions about the roll-out schedule, please reach out to the San Juan OFO point of contact, Program Manager Mayra Figueroa at 787-729-6982.

Additional Information:

What is the ROAM app?
